Katie and Bryan / A Louisville wedding at Cathedral of the Assumption and The Galt House

I have to say that we loved everything about this couple.  We worked with the family over the course of a year and the level of comfort and enjoyment everyone had on the wedding day reflected that so well.  We originally created a Same Day Edit (You know, show up and film day of while delivering a video to the client that night) and simply couldn't wait to dive into the footage we had to create the wedding film.

With a brief start to the day at The Galt House (View the Same Day Edit at the bottom of the post to see the bridal prep) and then on to The Cathedral of the Assumption, the day was filled with great moments all thoughout as everyone had a great time.  It didn't matter what was happening, where they were going, and if things got a little behind, they all simply smiled and knew they couldn't have asked for a better day.

Katie had her confirmation at Cathedral of Assumption many years before.  Life does come full circle and when you can share it with people you love, nothing can match it.

Enjoy the wedding of Katie and Bryan.

And this is the Same Day Edit we delivered.  Sharing what unfolded with the bride and groom just hours after it happened.  There is simply no better way to answer the question of "so what did you do".

Caitlin + Edgar - a speech, a ceremony, and a heck of a good time

Our previous post was a little preview of what was to come.  An incredible day with a fun loving couple that hired ICVideo to make a wedding video.  We did.  It wasn't that easy though...

Cathedral of Assumption and a Louisville Wedding Video

First off, we don't simply shove a contract out to someone and say "sign, book now before you lose your date, we're the cheapest, we're the best," or a million other sales tactics.  What we do is talk.  We first met Caitlin and Edgar at a bridal show, way back in 2011.  We meet a lot of brides, grooms, moms, dads, and friends, but since we kind of sit back and just let people watch our films, the right couples always seem to step forward.  Caitlin and Edgar did just that, and we had a feeling they would be an ICVideo couple.

We got the email inquiry on the 5th of July 2011 and spoke with Caitlin immediately about the wedding. When they came into the studio we all sat down, talked about a million things, watched videos, and we all knew that we were a fit for each other.  They signed and the countdown began.

We ran into each other at other wedding shows, bumped into each other at Mellwood Arts Center (the reception site), and each time it was a smile and conversation.  That's what we love.  Excitement, energy, and good people.  We don't do weddings to record "something."  We record a wedding to show how much love, attention, energy, and devotion a couple has with each other and all those around.

This video has made me smile the 30 or so times I've watched it.  This is what every bride and groom deserves.  A story of the day.

Mellwood Arts Center Wedding Reception

From the meetings and conversations before the wedding to the planning and prep the week of your wedding, we work hard to film the day and create each story.  It's not about having the best cameras in the market to film with that make the day (though it helps).  It's not about preparing the day before so that every battery is charged, every lens is cleaned, and every camera is ready (though it helps).  It's not about working that day.  It's about being the skilled professional waiting for the perfect moments (with the best equipment), and taking all the good pieces and parts of the day and doing what we call "stitching".  Stitching a story like Caitlin and Edgars from Cathedral of Assumption to Mellwood Arts Center is what it's all about.  I've said it before, but Caitlin and Edgar, thanks for letting us capture your day.
