We've posted the fabolous opening, a video showcasing the wonderful vendors, and now the final highlight film for Joshua and Deysi. This short film is a walk through the day from our first moments of arrival to the end of the night with a packed dance floor.

We started with a heartfelt opening from the father of the groom and moved to shots of Deysi and Joshua with friends and family. Being able to document and not stage shots of a father and son, groom and groomsman, and capturing the smiles of the bride and bridesmaids is such a great feeling. The progressed as many due with moments of love and passion shared.

The slideshow below is a link to the incredible talents of eMotion Image and Video. We work with eMotion a lot as they are the sister company to ICVideo. Over several years we've seen many companies try to do a photo/video blend. No one has done it successfully in this region.

We took a studio that brought video and film making to a new level in our region since our inception seven years ago and worked to craft a complimentary wedding photography service in Louisville. This was far from an overnight whim or an established company trying to simply cash in. It was the passion of Megan Biddle to deliver a complimentary style of capturing the day candidly with bright, vivid, clean colors that started the photography division.

From taking photos the first time with Brock and Brittany on a little farm in Shelbyville to now shooting wedding photography for Louisville’s finest locations like the Henry Clay, The Ice House, and The Gillespie’s newest addition: The Loft, it’s been a long road of perfecting and balancing the day as only eMotion and ICVideo can.

Our styles coincide flawlessly. Having attended hundreds of weddings filming at some and shooting photos at others, we’ve always had two simple goals. Respect the bride and groom, family and friends, venues and vendors while delivering a true story of the day. The fact is there is always a better shot. We feel you can have a shot over someone’s shoulder (a guest you invited) which is much better than blocking that guest so we can get a slightly different perspective. ICVideo and eMotion also decided long ago that we wouldn’t do the reenactment that so many of the vendors seem to turn to. More often than not, there isn’t a perfect shot. We’d always like to be a little closer during the lighting of the candles or during the first kiss. The reason we don’t is because we don’t want a single guest to notice us while you are having the best moment of your life.

The biggest compliment we can get is that the day went perfectly, looked stunning, and more often than not the guest didn’t even notice we were there. You still get the formal portraits of friends and family per your request, but no one is stopping the first dance to get a smile at the camera. We want you to remember your day, not what the photographer or cinematographer had you do. It’s a fine line that most brides and grooms to be don’t realize is even there.

So below is an example of what ICVideo and eMotion Image can capture and create. This wedding with Samantha and Michael is the perfect example of our kind of couple (fun loving with smiles), our kind of day (with family and friends excited to be there), and what we deliver (the story of the day exactly as it happened). This look at how motion and stills can come together at a beautiful wedding venue like the Ice House is simply what we do. The Ice House Louisville & St John's UCC on Market for Sara and Jason

This is the first in a series of videos we will be showing that feature the Ice House Louisville as the perfect wedding venue. We've flmed so many great weddings there and Sara and Jason & Co. made this one of our favorites from last year. We were lucky enough to work with some talented vendors and the look and feel of the day was amazing.

Our day started at St John's UCC on Market in Louisville KY. It is a beautiful old church and has a perfect blend of history and character. A few of the standout things about St John's UCC is the organ (which fewer and fewer churches have or are including when they remodel) and the layout of the altar. The altar is raised and roomy but not huge where moments of the ceremony can be out of guest view. It also happens to be one of the few where you can have a full quartet and vocal section tucked neatly out of view but is also front and center. Having worked with Autumn at the church many times it's nice to see how organized the space is and accomodating to brides and grooms time after time. We also got to work with some old friends as Jack Gill with Dance Party Unlimited (provider of sound, light, and entertainment) and Jessie and Chris with Kriech-Higdon Photography. It's hard to explain how great and easy going K&H Photography are both to work with and the imagery they create. Another post we'll have in this series also involved the team at K&H Photo.

So as we transitioned through the day capturing the moments, we couldn't wait to get to The Ice House. We knew that Jack Gill of Dance Party Unlimited was providing DJ and MC services, uplighting (loved the blue!), and Jack had told us earlier about the special laser he was using to project what most people call a GOBO. A GOBO is the names, date, or monogram of the couple projected on the floor or wall of the venue. I don't often have to say this, but the video doesn't do justice to how fantastic the laser GOBO of Dance Party Unlimited is. It was show stopping. People were in awe of how the names were so bright and colorful. It was unlike anything we had ever seen before.

Wedding Cake at The Ice House

The Ice House once again proved to be the perfect choice of wedding reception venue in Louisville for this wedding. Nikki and Erica always provide a top level experience and every detail was flawless. Crush Ice Events provided the food and bar service which was superb. One of the coolest parts of the Ice House is the bar's countertop. It has little LED's tucked inside and it produces a look and glow that no other venue has. Plus, it's huge. Instead of a long line of guest out to the dance floor, guest can line along the countertop for quick service and the perfect cocktail.

The layout of the Ice House also has to be one of it's biggest perks. The DJ is raised above the dance floor. The Mezzanine is perfect for older guest or those who wish to be a part of the day, but not in the middle of everything. The dance floor is the perfect size for a wide range of guest counts. Not to big, not to small. And having Dance Party Unlimited DJ the event made sure it was packed all night.

The Seelbach Hilton Wedding experience by ICVideo

The Seelbach Hilton HotelICVideo has had a long and meaningful relationship with the Seelbach Hilton Hotel. One of our first huge weddings was held in the Medallion ballroom almost 6 years ago. The ceiling was draped in cloth, the lighting was beautiful, the staff and service were tops bar none. That wedding and the resulting video allowed us to establish our place in filming at one of the most fabled locations in the region.

We've filmed in four rooms to include what we were told is the only wedding ever in the Oakroom. We've filmed multiple times in the classic and one of Rathskellar room. Several large weddings with a live band in the Medallion Ballroom. A handful of elegant affairs on the top floors Grand Ballroom which is both visually rich and has as much history as any other location in Louisville. The history, style, and ambience of a Seelbach Hilton wedding has welcomed us each time and allowed us to tell a unique story each time.

John and Claire's Kentucky Wedding in the country

Kentucky Country WeddingThe short preview below is for John and Claire. A wonderful couple that hired us to film their day in a little town called Finchville at the little Finchville church. I don't know that we've ever seen a church so packed with friends and family. It might have been a little chilly outside, but the love and warmth inside made the day perfect.

Finchville Baptist Church held one of the best small town weddings we've ever had the chance to film. It was around Halloween and the colors and details of the day were perfect accents. We had the pleasure of working with Studio E Photography and as always Shane and Michelle were a blast to work with.

Lori & Jack at The Olmsted - A Perfect Fall Wedding in Kentucky

Oh how plans change. From the first time we met with Lori and Jack to the day of the wedding we went from a temple to The Olmsted. It's funny how when brides book ICVideo for their wedding Cinematography in Kentucky that things change. Sometimes it's the colors of the day, maybe a bridesmaid or groomsman, and sometimes even a venue. For our final meeting before the big day we met and I always ask the same question to start. "So where and what time is the wedding?" .An Autumn wedding at The Omsted. Another perfect Kentucky wedding by ICVideo.

So let's think about this. You've trusted and paid someone likely thousands of dollars for a service on your wedding day.... and they don't know where or when. 90% of the time we get a comical look and the exact time and location matches to our notes, the contract, emails, and our memory. But those 10% that don't, boy are we glad we asked. Now Jack and Lori let us know beforehand that the venue had changed, but I still asked at our final meeting just a few days before. The Olmsted, not The Temple, just making sure:)

We had a great time with Jack and Lori. Fun loving people that had a smile for every step they took that day. We were able to work with one of our favorite photographers, Robert Burge of Robert Burge Photography (view his website here). If you happen to look at his blog the last two weddings he has posted were worked with ICVideo as well. Rburge.com is definitely a great place to go and look for inspiration.

Filming for the day started about an hour and a half before the ceremony and we were able to get some gorgeous shots of The Olmsted. It's a very short time of year that we have such perfect colors to film. We love to take the time to set the stage for the day with how the day "felt". It was also warm enough that everyone was able to go out and capture some shots pretty much throughout the day before and after the ceremony.

We've done many weddings at The Olmsted and one of the biggest questions we get is how was the set-up? Where was the ceremony, how did they flip the rooms, and what do you think? This one had the ceremony in the center, cocktail to the left (facing the fireplace), dinner on the right (which was hidden until the curtains were opened, and back to the left for the key reception events. If you're wondering how your wedding should be, I only have one answer. Go with whatever Jeri says. If you book The Olmsted, Jeri is a masterful orchestrator of how your day will unfold. With her previous tenure at the Brown Hotel for years, she's the perfect answer for how your day should go.

As the day progressed we captured many, many great moments and when we got to the reception Entertainment Essentials was the perfect crew for the job. Chris and Nicole at Graceland Baptist and The Olmsted for a Kentucky Winter Wedding

I can't remember the first time we met Chris' parents. It was at a bridal show with hundreds of brides and hundreds of people. The fact is that at a wedding show, though the exact time and date may not stand out, we can still have meaningful introductions with prospective brides and groom and in this case their families. What I do remember is when we met them again at the Ice House for the Louisville Wedding Association bridal show from winter 2012. We spoke for a moment about the day and then the hustle and bustle of the evening took over and they walked on looking for other services for the wedding day. And then I remember towards the end of the show they came back. It wasn't as busy and I remember speaking to them for 10 or so minutes (which is wonderful to have at a wedding show!) and we clicked.You just know when it happens and it's the greatest feeling in the world. I think our work speaks for itself, we speak for our values and respect for a wedding day, and our reputation speaks volumes of how we deliver. It was a chance meeting that allowed us to create this for Chris and Nicole.

The greatest thing about this wedding was that you never knew if you were going to hear Nicole laugh or Chris. They enjoyed the day and had a time with their friends that was wonderful to be around. Was it cold outside? Sure. Was there snow on the ground? Yup. Did it matter? Not at all. From the first look to the Gangnam Style dance at the end of the night it was a good time.

Winter Wedding in Kentucky with Nicole and Chris

Graceland BaptistSouthern Indiana Wedding We had the pleaure of working with Shane and Michelle with Studio E. We have a great time working Studio E Photography and you can check out their work at their website here. During the dinner we were all able to sit down and have our 10 minute meal (Usually it's only 6 or so but 10 sounds better) and relax. By relax I mean work out the logistics and schematic to how we were going to film the formal events and who needed to be where for what. That's probably the biggest difference between working with a professional vendor and hiring that guy who just got an awesome camera. A professional knows and plans "what comes next". Others maybe not so much. As the night progressed we worked together and the results are the video above and the photos that Shane and Michelle with Studio E will be posting will be more of their spectacular work as well.

The reception at The Olmsted was incredbile. In part to the fine work, fine MC'ing, and awesome lighting provided by SUP DJ's. We got to work with Matt of SUP again and during that dinner discusion he kept us all in the loop as to the order of events and timeline. Once again hiring a professional always pays off. The spot lights that they provided were the perfect accent for the first dance and key events of the evening.

Stephanie and Kurt's Vendor Trailer - Meet some local vendors

The video below is something we love to do, but often don't take the time. We take different snippets of the day and showcase the venues, florist, DJ's, Bakers, etc... So many wonderful vendors work to make a wedding day happen and it's nice on our end with the beautiful footage we shoot to give a little credit. Enjoy the video which features St. Agnes and the Louisville Ramada Plaza, J Michaels Salon and Spa, wedding dress by Couture Closet (great friends of ICVideo), and others.

We spoke with Tara at the Couture Closet about the dress. The train was lengthend and the viel from Sara Gabriel Veils was just stunning. Many brides forgo the veil, but the combination of the dress and veil made Stephanie look even more stunning on her wedding day.

It's so ironic we are posting this video on a day when the temperatures are in single digits. January 22nd was a cold, cruel day. The joy is that looking back just a few months ago, we were filming at the Sawyer Hayes center in Louisville Kentucky on a perfect wedding day. It was warm, sunny, bright skies, and a perfect breeze to make the lanterns sway and the flowers rustle.

The best part of this video was how Katie smiled and Aaron just enjoyed every minute of it. It was the perfect wedding day. Katie simply glowed all day and the hair by Laura Conard of Wedding Hair by Laura Conard with make-up by Ashley Corsi of Perfect Complexions really made Katie look stunning. She had the most perfect smile every moment of the day. It's so great when a bride and groom relax and are able to take in all the wonderful people and moments happening around them.

We started our day filming at Sawyer Hayes Community Center. This popular wedding and event space is located in Anchorage, KY off the backside of the E.P. Tom Sawyer Park. Filming at Sawyer Hayes for a wedding always lends itself to stunning moments. The outside ceremony with the wooden terrace, the Chinese lanterns, and the lush scenery all around once again proved to be a perfect setting for an outdoor Kentucky wedding.

Aaron and Katie also decided to do a first look with Stewart Hunter Photography snapping some photos. You can link to their photos here on the Stewart Hunter Photography Blog. It was great working with Stewart and the photos look fantastic. It's so interesting to see how we both captured such a unique moment with the first look. Both sides telling a great tale for the couple to share for generations.

Just a couple of details that made this outdoor Kentucky wedding perfect

We also have to add that the evening wouldn't have been as perfect were it not for Dave Drummond with Odyssey Entertainment. We worked with Dave many times this past year and he really brings a perfect balance to any day. The highlight doesn't show the energy of the reception but it really focuses on how Dave set-up all the big moments perfectly from the entrance to the formal dances. Always good to work with such a top notch professional. The cake was another masterpiece from Mert's Cakes by Virginia. They look the best, taste the best, and honestly we can't say enough about how much a stunning cake adds to the feel of the reception.

We are looking forward to an incredible year in 2013. We have several bookings for May, June, July, August, and October (what happened September????). Some dates are still available so if you're interested in booking just send us an email or give us a call. It's always a mix as to what dates we have available. Below are a few of our recent couples or bride and moms. Our meetings have anyone from a solo bride to talk about the day to 6 or 7 friends and family members. You bring the people and we'll take the pic!

Oh Jennifer and Bonnie... The wedding video is definitely going to get some smiles.This is Jennifer and Bonnie. Chris is marrying Jennifer at the Galt House with a Cochran/Archibald wedding (room names) on July 20th. It's going to be a blast. Every wedding we've done at the Galt House has had an unbelievable style and class. This one may top the energy charts though!

Leah and Mindy (Dad was due left :) Going to be an incredible wedding at the Olmsted.Leah and Brian (Mom pictured and dad on the left....Just out of the frame:) are getting married and trying to take the title from a recent wedding we filmed at the Olmsted of the most perfect weather ever. If you've never enjoyed the long drive into the Masonic Homes off of Frankfort during the Fall, you are missing out on the gorgeous, lush greens, the many, many established trees with turning leaves, and the simply striking facade of the Olmsted. ICVideo is always looking to get that next perfect shot and I think Leah's wedding may make that happen! Can't wait to see what ICVideo and the talented photographer Josh Perkins of Redtree Photography create for this family.

How lucky can you be to work with this couple at Cathedral of the Assumption and Muhammad Ali? Very!

Evan and Jennifer... October can't get here fast enough. We met on a Friday, and as couples often do, Evan and Jennifer wanted time to think it over. We don't hold dates, but Evan said he let us know the following week. Well, Monday came and they stopped by. {Flash} This is the look of wonderful decision. I can't wait to film their wedding (we filmed his bothers three years prior) and set the day to music with ICVideo's own style and approach. Filming at Cathedral of the Assumption and Muhammad Ali center is defiantly going to push this video to the top of our favorites.

Sara and Jason / St Johns UCC and The Ice House

The rain couldn’t put a damper on Sara and Jason’s wedding. Friends and family came out with smiles on their faces in anticipation for their day.

The ceremony took place at St. Johns UCC, which was a stunning venue to work with. We’ve had the pleasure of filming at St. Johns UCC many times before. The architectural aspects of St. Johns UCC are traditional in nature, making any wedding look breathtaking. The charm of the building and the elegance of the wedding made for the perfect shots for the wedding video.
The reception took place at the Ice House in Downtown Louisville. The Ice House is a venue we continue to have great rapport with. The Ice House’s modern style, which lends itself to the most up to date and elegant looks, brought all the aspects of Sara and Jason’s wedding together to create the perfect after-ceremony location. Erica and Nikki put events on like this time after time at the Ice House with each one having that perfect, unique flair, to make it the bride and grooms own.
DJ Jack Gill, from Dance Party Unlimited, is a master at his craft and his energy and enjoyment for being a Master of Ceremonies really shines. Not only did he have the ability to get everyone on their feet to dance the night away, he also got on the dance floor and boogied with them! DJ Jack Gill and Dance Party Unlimited are professionals who truly love what they are doing and they work well with the photographers, the wedding party, and us to make the day spectacular for everyone.
The Photographers, Jessie and Chris from K&H Photo are, undoubtedly, the definition of professional. They were very punctuality and courteousness, along with their ability to work well with the wedding party to set up fun pictures, easily captured the fun loving personalities of everyone involved. We have no doubt that the shots Jessie and Chris took were nothing less than excellent. K&H Photo were a joy to work with. This was also another great event put together by Weekend Wedding Warrior. The only reason a day like this goes so smooth is because someone made the choice to enjoy their day (the bride) and let someone else do the work (the warrior). Thanks to Maggie and her awesome team for this wonderful event.

We are so glad we got to share in this wonderful day with Sarah and Jason. Filming such a gorgeous wedding and lively reception really makes our job, and their wedding video, spectacular.

Charles + Akure @ Cathedral of Assumption and The Brown Hotel

From the moment we arrived at Akure and Charles’ wedding, we knew it was going to be a wonderful day! Everyone involved with the wedding (the couple; their families; and all the vendors working to put together such a spectacular event,) were super excited and happy about the day!

Both venues were a joy to work with. The Cathedral of Assumption’s architectural beauty made shooting an already spectacular day even better, and the staff of The Brown Hotel, as per usual, was not only prompt and elegant, but very helpful towards the needs of the guests and the rest of the vendors as well. A reception at The Crystal Ballroom always has a level of style and class that creates ICVideo's most incredbile weddings.
It is very easy to appreciate working with the photographer, Josh Meredith from Bella Grace Studios. His keen eye for aesthetics took the couple, and us, to gorgeous backgrounds that perfectly fit the couple’s style, as well as the day and all its emotion. The first wedding we worked with Josh was at Cathedral of the Assumption 6 years ago. It's amazing how everytime we step in The Cathedral of the Assumption it's like the first time, like with Josh and Bella Grace many years ago.
The reception could not have been as perfect as it was without the DJ, Kenny Sauter with Masters of Music. His eloquence as a master of ceremonies makes the formal events and experience of the reception event of class. And his enthusiasm and energy really shines through when the party arrives! I’m very glad to have had the privilege of documenting such a remarkable event; it really helps remind us of how much we enjoy doing what we do!

Ending the year with Chris and Nicole - Graceland Baptist and The Olmsted

This is just a quick post to say thank you to our last wedding of the year. The cameras were shut-off at around 10:10pm and placed in their bags to rest until our next wedding in January 2013. I can't really explain how great it was to work with both families. Chris' mom and dad met us at a couple of shows and I think we all immediately knew that ICVideo was a perfect fit for capturing the day. The picture below is our trusty Polaroid we use in office. I couldn't believe how lucky we were that Chris came in wearing his ugly Christmas sweater.

The night of the wedding we were lucky enough to grab a second photo (and yes, I brought the Polaroid with us) of them both wearing slightly different attire.

Some of the other great vendors that made this last wedding of 2012 so enjoyable were Studio E Photography (Shane and Michelle are so creative and easy to work with), Sounds Unlimited Productions (We've worked with SUP on numerous occasions and every time it's a showstopper), and we were able to film at Graceland Baptist in New Albany with the reception at The Olmsted (And as always a special thanks to Jeri and Brenda. Brenda you will be missed!). I don't think we could have ended the year any better.

And to think that we get to start the new year with editing their wedding! It simply doesn't get any better.

I have to admit to taking longer than I should have on this video. Part of it was staffing changes, part of it was crazy scheduling conflicts, and the main reason was an unwillingness to compromise. We could have had something done a few weeks ago. What we did was work as a team of three in creating a truly unique set of videos (and yes there is more than just what we have here!) for Ashley and Dan. Being a team of creative professionals is such a hard task to put a timeline on. As a business we do have to have deadlines, as a creative service: "what about just tweaking this color?" "what about adding this audio?" "lets take that out and put them in..." It's the most rewarding yet most demanding part of our job. Below is the result of what a little bit of time can create.

From the moment that I met with Ashley there was one focus on the entire day~Family. She was focused on family traveling to Kentucky for the wedding and making sure that each person felt at home. There was no plan she had that didn't include her family, her friends, the bridal party, and anyone that would be attending (she made us vendors feel especially welcome!). She had gifts for her girls (the bridal party) and gifts for the little girls (cute as buttons) and of course a gift for the man of the hour, Dan. It was so enjoyable being around that day and having the perfect smile or hug just moments away.
The one thing that stood out after an incredible year of weddings was the dress. I think it has to be one of the most stunning dresses I've ever seen. The uniqueness of the dress matched perfectly to Ashley and I think it goes without saying that Dan's heart skipped about 10-20 beats when he saw her.

Our second video showcased a small part of the ceremony and really the beauty in the day itself. It's hard to imagine asking for a more beautiful day, in horse country, in front of a stately mansion, to get married. One thing I love about our style is simply letting the day tell its own story. This time the wind was blowing the white flags while the lanterns danced in the wind with their orange ribbons. Every time we were able to scoot back a little and show the mansion with just a touch of blue sky and clouds sprinkled in was treat. The horse carriage provided the perfect arrival for father and daughter. At this point Dan was a good 150ft away and you could almost see him counting the steps as she inched closer to taking his hand for the rest of their lives.

The final video to day (all the key events were also delivered so every word of the toast can be relived and shared) takes on a slightly different tone. From the moment the music starts it was a celebration. I personally love wedding videos for one reason. Reliving not just the moment, but the people that made it happen. When you've got your moms and dads standing, smiling, clapping, and rooting for you it simply can't get any better. The bridal party did a very interesting variety of entrance performances and the place erupted when Ashley and Dan walked in. You'll also notice a screen in a couple of the shots with a picture of Griffin Gate's stone marker. This was the opening frame for Ashley and Dan's Same Day Edit. We took so many of the moments that the bride and groom miss of each other and created a complete highlight video that was shown at the reception during dinner. It was an absolute showstopper.

So there you have one of ICVideo's grandest weddings, kindest people, and fortunately very patient ;) weddings of the year. Nothing beats what we do.

Katie and Stewart - Coming soon to a Duncan Memorial and Kye's near you!

The photo below is of one of ICVideo's brides to be (Stewart was MIA, but we'll get a picture of you soon enough!). Katie and Stewert are getting married at Duncan Memorial in Crestwood, Kentucky. When ICVideo started putting our focus on weddings six(6) years ago we were filming at Duncan Memorial at least a couple of times a year. Then the past few years we missed out on the chance to film there with date conflicts and simply not getting booked for what is always one of the most gorgeous places in the region for the Spring. The grounds are lush with foliage, beautiful dogwood trees (I've seen both white and pink), and for icing on the cake a beautiful pond surrounded by trees. Picturesque doesn't even begin to describe how beautiful it's going to look.

Along with Duncan Memorial we also had another spot we frequented fall to the wayside, Kye's in Jeffersonville Indiana. Kye's has two individual venues separated by a courtyard complete with a fountain. Both are stunning and no matter if it has the huge glass block wall as you enter or the waterfall cascading down a rippled plate of glass it's perfect for a wedding.
As we wait for the end of May to hurry on our calendar, we thank Katie and Stewart for making ICVideo part of the day. And Katie, the Same Day Edit is going to be beyond incredible. I promise you both laughs and tears.

A day at St. Agnes in Louisville Kentucky (KY) with Sarah and Sean

This is how we spent our entire year! Filming incredbile weddings and sharing our days with some incredible (and happy!) people.

Just a quick preview of wedding from the fall. We love filming at the traditional Catholic Churches in and around Kentuckiana and St. Agnes stands with the best of them. The grounds are always beautiful, the church is wonderfully preserved, and the wood and glass tell a story of so many years.

It's safe to say that Sean and his guys brought the laughs and the trolley brought Sarah and all the smiles. Thanks to J. Elizabeth Designs for the stunning florals. It's always a pleasure to work with Jill.

Andrew and Jessica at the Brown Hotel and St. Francis of Assisi

It's so hard to believe that we first started talking to Jessica and Andrew in October of 2011. It seemed like we were old friends by the time the wedding date arrived. I couldn't wait for the smile that Andrew put on Jessica's face to part of the wedding highlight.

The ladies were dressed in some of the most stunning white, champagne, and pink dresses we've seen. Each one had a slightly different style and worked so well for all the bridesmaids. If you need any advice about a wedding day, watch this video and see how to simply enjoy it.

We were also lucky enough once again to work with Ellen of Shafox Weddings and Events. Ellen always seems to have the brides who appreciate the day and jsut have fun. This one was no exception. Ellen makes the day flow smooth and worry free (as you can see on the bride and everyone's face!), and her decor and floral's always set the stage for a memorable event.

Rachel and Matthew - A Father's Wisdom Spoken from the Heart at the Brown Hotel's Crystal Ballroom

Rachel and Matthew's wedding was something that we almost didn't get to capture. We first met Rachel and her mother at the Brown Hotel Bridal Show in January of 2012. Immediately she fell in love with our work (I feel comfortable saying that because aside from saying she loved our work she actually grabbed a seat on the floor and watched several videos:). The conversation was great, the wedding sounded incredible (as all weddings with Shafox Weddings and Events are), and they seemed like such wonderful people that I just knew we would work together. Ten minutes into our initial meeting and it happened.

"Wow, that sounds great. What's the date.....?"

Rachel "August 4th......2012"

I felt the biggest lump in my chest possible. No. That date was taken and there was no way we could take on another wedding. We all smiled, bid our adieu, and the rest of the night came up just a little bit empty. The perfect bride, the perfect day, and the chance to work with someone that was as excited to work with us as we were with them.

Fast forward a couple months and life happened. Our original August 4th wedding canceled. Things just weren't going to work for the couple on that date.

I called (and emailed) the planner for Rachel's wedding and sure enough everything worked out.

Rachel booked us for her Brown Hotel Wedding and the day was set. Below is a preview of the day. Spoken with such warmth and kindness. No matter if it's the first wedding or number 100, we are so lucky to hear and record the moments we do. Rachel and Matthew now have the most perfect day of their lives to share with friends and family forever.

John & Claire - A Kentucky wedding day in Shelbyville

Today we are capturing the wedding day of John and Claire. A slightly chilly day, but warm none the less.
John and Claire met at the Post Office. Such a wonderful outcome for what so many of us never find joy from. Just goes to show that we never know when the right time and right place will be. Except for maybe today in Finchville for the two of them.
As an added perk we get to work with Studio E Photography. Shane and Michelle are always a blast to work with.

Scott and Meagan at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and The Grand New Albany

Scott sent me an email in October of 2011. Just a simple inquiry looking for information and pricing. After 20 emails and responses, a few phone calls, and the always necessary meeting Scott and Meagan booked us for ceremony and reception covearge of their wedding day. It was a church we hadn't had the pleasure of visiting yet and The Grand in New Albany which is one of our favorite venues in southern Indiana. Our excitement was met with a gorgeous church, a daper groom, and a beautiful bride. We love what we do!

The photographer for this wedding was Stephen Harmon of Harmon Weddings. We've worked with Stephen numerous times over the past several years and there is one thing we can always say. His work is fantastic. He can take the simplest moment, frame the perfect shot, and capture a photo that will make you look twice. The wedding day for us started at the church. Meagan is a teacher at the adjoining school and I think it was very symbolic for the day. From the time the party bus arrived with the ladies (then later the guys), it was nothing but smiles. This was a wedding were many of the family members arrived early out of excitement. It's always nice to see the loving energy of a wedding.

I think the video showcases how incredible the day was and how Scott and Meagan had everything perfect from start to finish.

Sarah and Christopher and The Perfect Kentucky Wedding Video

This day was an absolute blast. From the moment this video plays you'll see what a great time we had with Sarah and Christopher & Friends. They were there to enjoy the day and make the most of it. The trolley started at Seelbach, then on to St. James UMC, and ended up at Mellwood Arts Center for the reception of a lifetime.

We were able to work with the incredibly talented and wonderfully joyful Honey Heart photography. Check out the link to see a perfect example of what they not only bring to the table (if the table was a camera and a lens) but how truly fun and genuine this pair is. We had a great time being a part of the day and the positive energy we were surrounded by. Honey Heart Photography is based out of Lexington, but Gabe has Louisville roots and knows all the good places to shoot.

And while the incredible work is only shown in a glimpse here (part two soon to come with the stunning orange floral and candle lit reception tables), J. Elizabeth Designs did such a wonderful job providing the floral and decor for the event. The orange arrangements for the ceremony made such a great impact. We had a chance to talk to J. Elizabeth Designs beforehand and having the orange to the outside of the altar did an amazing job of framing the altar. Loved it. Hands down. Jill outdid herself once again and the reception portion of the highlight is going to show it.

Enjoy the highlight and the view we once again give into an ICVideo couple. We are so lucky to do what we do. And special thanks to Mike (Sarah's brother) for bringing us on to film the day. Mike is serving our country and we so deeply thank him for that.
